Our humble beginnings started in 1965, when the credit union was formed to serve the financial needs of employees of The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P Grocery stores). Through the years, we have grown responsibly and transformed through exciting changes; including the addition of many new SEGs (Select Employee Groups who the credit union serves) and two associations added to the Field of Membership in our charter. Through time, three smaller credit unions merged into Kit; helping solidify our financial strength and diversify the credit union’s membership.

In 2024, we expanded our Field of Membership from SEG-based to a community-focused charter; and are now able to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Jefferson County, KY.

Our motto is “Large enough to serve you, but small enough to know you”. We dedicate ourselves to providing personal service and financial guidance, while offering the loan and money management products and technology you desire, and deserve.
